Most online databases allow you to export your results directly to a reference management program.
You can then import this information into Citavi.
The following example illustrates the process using
→ Scirus.
Perform your search.
Select the checkboxes for the references you want to add to Citavi.
In Scirus you can only export the results from one page at a time.
After that you need to select results on the next page as well and repeat the export.
Click Export. (The name of this command varies by database: Download, Download Citations,
Save to Reference Software, Export to Reference Manager, Download Selected Citations, and Export to EndNote are just some examples).
Choose whether to export only the basic information ("citations only"),
or to include abstracts and keywords.
Abstracts can be be very helpful for evaluating your results. Click Export.
The RIS file is created and downloaded to your computer. Your Web browser will ask whether you want to open the file with Citavi or save it.
Select Open with Citavi and click OK.
If no project is currently open, Citavi will ask which project you want to import the results to.
Citavi asks if you want to import keywords as well.
The new references are imported into your project. After checking over the newly imported references,
click the
Cancel button or click
Cancel selection to see all of your references again.
