Why is Citavi not accepting my license key?
If Citavi rejects a license key, it is usually because of one of the following reasons:
- You did not copy the license key in its entirety.Log in to your Citavi account again and then use the link to copy the license key.
- You entered a site license by hand and didn't enter the "Activated until" date in the format "year-month-day" (2017-01-14).
- The license key does not match the Citavi version you're using. You can find the Citavi version number on the Help menu, under About. Maybe you tried entering a Citavi 5 license in Citavi 3. If you are using a previous version, install the current Citavi version and then enter your license key again. You can then continue working on your projects in the new version. If Citavi accepts the license key but does not save it, please contact the Citavi Support team.
